Are involuntary autobiographical memory and déjà vu natural products of memory retrieval?Krystian Barzykowski & Chris J. A. Moulin - 2023 - Behavioral and Brain Sciences 46:e356.
Involuntary autobiographical memories (IAMs) and déjà vu are phenomena that occur spontaneously in daily life. IAMs are recollections of the personal past, whereas déjà vu is defined as an experience in which the person feels familiarity at the same time as knowing that the familiarity is false. We present and discuss the idea that both IAMs and déjà vu can be explained as natural phenomena resulting from memory processing and, importantly, are both based on the same memory retrieval processes. Briefly, (...)

    Extending Montague's system: A three valued intensional logic.E. H. Alves & J. A. D. Guerzoni - 1990 - Studia Logica 49 (1):127 - 132.
In this note we present a three-valued intensional logic, which is an extension of both Montague's intensional logic and ukasiewicz three-valued logic. Our system is obtained by adapting Gallin's version of intensional logic (see Gallin, D., Intensional and Higher-order Modal Logic). Here we give only the necessary modifications to the latter. An acquaintance with Gallin's work is pressuposed.

Story and Poem: The Old Testament as Literature and as Scripture.David J. A. Clines - 1980 - Interpretation 34 (2):115-127.
The distinction between the Bible as literature and the Bible as scripture is largely artificial. The church can properly hear its Bible as scripture only when it reads it as literature.

    Non-Minimal Electromagnetic Coupling for Spin-3/2 Fields.V. M. Villanueva, J. A. Nieto & O. Obregón - 2003 - Foundations of Physics 33 (5):735-740.
The problem of the electromagnetic coupling for spin-3/2 particles is discussed. Following supergravity and some previous researches in the field of classical supersymmetric particles, we found that the electromagnetic coupling must not obey a minimal coupling in the sense of coupling the electromagnetic potential, but some kind of an electromagnetic field strength.

The structure of the γ‐TuRC at the microtubule minus end – not just one solution.Qi Gao, Bram J. A. Vermeulen, Martin Würtz, Hyesu Shin, Dilara Erdogdu, Anjun Zheng, Florian W. Hofer, Annett Neuner, Stefan Pfeffer & Elmar Schiebel - 2024 - Bioessays 46 (9):2400117.
In cells, microtubules (MTs) assemble from α/β‐tubulin subunits at nucleation sites containing the γ‐tubulin ring complex (γ‐TuRC). Within the γ‐TuRC, exposed γ‐tubulin molecules act as templates for MT assembly by interacting with α/β‐tubulin. The vertebrate γ‐TuRC is scaffolded by γ‐tubulin‐interacting proteins GCP2‐6 arranged in a specific order. Interestingly, the γ‐tubulin molecules in the γ‐TuRC deviate from the cylindrical geometry of MTs, raising the question of how the γ‐TuRC structure changes during MT nucleation. Recent studies on the structure of the vertebrate (...)

Webs of De-Centered Discourse: The Future of Global Media Ethics.Stephen J. A. Ward - 2021 - In Handbook of Global Media Ethics. Springer Verlag. pp. 1207-1222.
This chapter explores the future of global media ethics by focusing on a question that is a cause of misunderstanding and, perhaps, its greatest conceptual challenge: What is the goal of global media ethics? The chapter argues that the image of global media ethics has been distorted by the view that a global ethic must consist of one, uniquely correct set of principles affirmed by a large majority of journalists around the world. Instead, the chapter proposes the idea of global (...)
